Stelvio National Park

Living nature

Santa Caterina Valfurva , in the heart of the most important National Park of Italy, the STELVIO NATIONAL PARK.

At the foot of the Valleys of Forni and Gavia is the ideal place for excursions and walks in nature, without using the car.

The Compagnoni family will be glad to welcome you from June to September to discover the most fascinating corners of the Park with excursions guided by the guides Pietro, Simone and Giuseppe.

The Stelvio National Park , the largest of the Italian historical parks, stretches in the heart of the Central Alps and includes typical valleys shaped by the action of the ice and the waters that descend from the mighty Ortles-Cevedale mountain range. The landscape of the park is formed by majestic ridges, lush forests, verdant high mountain prairies furrowed by foaming streams that flow from perennial glaciers. The morphological variety of the territory, determined by the conspicuous altitude differences, allows the existence of large ecosystems with numerous rare species of animals and plants. Villages and farms, scattered in the fondival and on the slopes of the mountains, complete the scenery and are fascinating testimonies of rural and sacred architecture, in complete harmony with the environment, which is really worth discovering!
